Your first visit to our office is a "get acquainted" visit. Our new patient coordinators, Jessica Chapman and Julie Pierce, greet you in the waiting room and guide you through a brief tour of our clinical area. This gives our new patients some insight as to how our practice operates during patient appointments. After we gather some personal information and a medical and dental history, an initial examination will be performed. Complimentary, digital photograghs are taken of the patient's face and teeth to view while Dr. Wendell explains the treatment options.
Treatment
Once the examination is completed, Dr. Wendell will make recommendations as to how to proceed. Julie and Jessica use visual aids and an advanced interactive computer program to help explain the diagnosis and treatment alternatives. We welcome all questions and input from our patients and other family members during the entire visit.
If treatment is indicated, an estimate of the time for treatment and fees will also be presented. An appointment for your complete diagnostic records and placement of your specific orthodontic appliances will also be scheduled. Along with the photos already taken, other types of records needed may include x-rays and impressions of your teeth and bite.
Recalls
Patients who do not require treatment at this time will be asked to return for periodic, follow-up examinations, or "Recalls", until treatment may be indicated. As with the initial examination, these recall visits are complimentary. A card to remind you of your upcoming follow-up visit will be sent to you when it is time for us to see you again.
